EcoDev participated to the Conference “Present and the Future of Sustainable and Responsible Tourism” organised by the Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Croatia
EcoDev’s representative stated that rural tourism is the largest tourism niche in Serbia, with around 10.000 registered rural accommodations. EcoDev started 7 years ago with the idea to spread this tourism potential and to implement the sustainable tourism criteria in resource efficiency to raise the standards of this offering and to reduce the negative impact on the environment. The results achieved together with the Serbian Ministry of Tourism and other relevant stakeholders until now are more than 150 eco certified rural accommodations in Serbia and more than 20 trainings on sustainable tourism standards.
Other experts from the EU and region shared their experiences and gave interesting presentations about the sustainable practices and trends in tourism.
