Serbia ratified the Paris Agreement on July 25, 2017.
Currently, 158 countries out of 195 signatories have ratified the agreement. The ratification of the Paris Agreement confirms our country’s commitment to participate in international processes as an equal partner, but also increases the possibility of using international funds for achieving goals and development, accompanied by a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions. The Paris agreement aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to a level that will limit global temperature growth below 2oC. Scientists consider this boundary as a safety margin, after which climate change becomes such that the ability to adapt to altered climatic conditions significantly reduces.
